Video content marketing trends in 2022 have evolved into more short video content-driven and interactive content. Tiktok, Instagram reels, and Youtube shorts have been the recent social media game-changer for new content trends. The importance of engagement and algorithms is leading the development of content trends within social media.

Video marketers have new ways to reach their target audience. The popularity of short video content is due to people's limited time, which captures viewers' attention for longer. People want to gain as much knowledge as possible by spending the least time on social media. To keep people engaged on social media, videos have to be kept short on social media. In contrast, long videos can put people at risk of losing their attention before reaching the best part of the video.

Engagement and algorithms are two essential factors on social media as they can help build a community within the social media app. The more active you are on those platforms, the more you will be seen within their community and become involved in conversations to meet new users. An algorithm is a system that helps personalize the content shared for each user based on the videos a user likes and is interested in and displays them on their For You Page. Everyone's For You Page is different as the algorithm system highly personalized its content specifically to tailor to what the individual would like best. Marketers must be highly engaging and understand their algorithms to impact marketing efforts positively.
